About this game
A six-by-six grid that clears and refills
Cascade Core drops six symbol types onto a thirty-six cell grid. Matching clusters clear, the cells above fall to fill the gaps, and the new arrangement can produce further matches — so a single drop can chain into several clears before it settles.

How cascades chain
Thirty-six cells and six symbols
The grid is six by six — thirty-six cells — filled from a set of six symbol types. After the drop, groups of matching symbols clear, and the symbols above them fall down to fill the gaps.
That refill can create new matching groups, which clear in turn. A single drop therefore resolves as a chain of clears rather than one, and the round is not settled until no further matches exist.
You have no input during any of this. The stake is placed before the drop and the entire cascade resolves automatically, however many links the chain runs to.
The chain is the variance
There is nothing to play here — no swapping, no selection, no decision beyond the stake. The interest is in understanding why the results are distributed the way they are.
Cascade mechanics concentrate outcomes at the extremes. Most drops produce one small clear or none at all, because a random arrangement of six symbols across thirty-six cells usually yields little. Occasionally a drop produces a clear that happens to set up another, which sets up another, and the round pays several times over from a single stake.
That is a fundamentally different distribution from a fixed-paytable game, even at the same theoretical return. A slot machine pays a known amount for a known combination; a cascading game pays an amount that depends on how the refill happened to fall. The average is the same ninety-five percent, but the path there is much lumpier.
Why chains are rare and valuable
Each successive clear in a chain requires the refill to coincidentally produce another match, and the chance of that compounds downward with every link. A two-clear chain is uncommon and a four-clear chain is genuinely rare, which is where the bulk of the game’s return is concentrated.
Six symbol types across thirty-six cells is the ratio that governs all of this. Fewer symbol types would make matches routine and chains constant; more would make the grid almost inert. The particular combination here is tuned so that the first clear is plausible and every clear after it is a coincidence stacked on a coincidence.

Common mistakes
The visual similarity to puzzle games misleads people about what this is.
- Looking for a move to make. This is not a match-three puzzle — there is no swapping and no skill element anywhere in the round.
- Reading a long chain as a hot streak. Each drop is independent; a big cascade says nothing about the next one.
- Expecting chains to be common. Most drops resolve in one small clear or none, and the rare long chain is where the return is concentrated.
- Judging the game by a short session. A cascading distribution is lumpier than a fixed paytable at the same return, so short sessions are unrepresentative.
What is different about this version
Outcomes are held as integer hundredths rather than floating-point multipliers, so a chain paying several times over resolves to exact whole cents rather than accumulating rounding error across each link. In a game where a single round can pay multiple times, that precision matters more than it would in a one-shot format.
The grid size, symbol count, outcome set, and theoretical return are all published constants. Because the whole round resolves automatically, that transparency is the only way to know what the game is doing — and it is available rather than implied.
Common questions about Cascade Core
Is this a puzzle game?
No, despite the appearance. There is no swapping and no move to make — you place a stake, the grid drops, and any cascades resolve automatically. The whole round is settled without input.
How does a single drop pay multiple times?
When a cleared group is refilled by symbols falling from above, the new arrangement can form another match. That clears in turn, and the chain continues until no matches remain.
Are long chains common?
No. Most drops produce one small clear or none. Each additional link needs the refill to coincidentally match again, so the chance compounds downward and long chains are where the return concentrates.
Does this pay better than a slot machine?
Not on average — both target ninety-five percent here. The difference is distribution: a cascading game produces lumpier results, with more nothing-rounds and occasional multi-clear rounds.
